4 + 2 and 5 + 1 Pathways

We have created a suite of services for the 4+2 Internship Pathway and 5+1 Internship Pathway because we are passionate about helping you develop skills, knowledge and confidence as provisional psychologists. Our services are designed to help you successfully meet the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) requirements to obtain General Registration as a Psychologist.

  • 4 + 2 internship

    • Fifth and Sixth Year
    • Duration: 2 Years Full-Time
      (88 weeks minimum)
    • Psychological Placement: 2720 hours
      (aprox. 28 hrs per week)
    • Supervision: 160 hours
    • Professional Development: 120 hours
    • Outcome: Eligible to Apply for General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)

    • Duration: 1 Year Full-Time
      (44 weeks)
    • Psychological Placement: 1400 hours
      (aprox. 35 hrs per week)

    • Outcome: Eligible to Apply for General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)

The Psychology Board of Australia sets the eight core competencies of the 4 + 2 and 5 + 1 Internship Programs. These core competencies must be achieved by the provisional psychologist, including:
